Rostec CEO says Lada cars price rises 9–12%, increase moderate
DUBAI, Nov 15 (PRIME) – The car prices of Russia’s car manufacturer AvtoVAZ’s Lada brand rose by 9–12% in 2021 as the cost of raw materials and electronic components increased, head of Russian state industrial corporation Rostec Sergei Chemezov told reporters at the Dubai Airshow 2021 global fair on Monday.
“(The prices rose by) about the same as with the competitors, or 9-12%, depending on the model … Global inflationary processes are underway. This means higher prices for almost all raw materials -- steel, plastic, metals, and electronic components. AvtoVAZ has managed to keep the prices as moderate as possible,” Chemezov said.
Chemezov did not rule out further price increases for Lada cars until the end of the year, but noted that such an increase would still be moderate and will not dull Lada’s competitive edge.
